Having won the Best Overall Restaurant in the Nottingham restaurant awards for 4 of the past 5 years, World Service hardly needs to advertise itself. Located at Newdigate house, World Service is a mix of British and Oriental traditions, with individually made items and various international artefacts completing the decor inside.
The restaurant, which can seat up to 50 covers, has a daily changing menu, so it is hard to list or even to find menu samples, however, World Service does offer a lunch ala carte as well as a dinner ala carte. Starters from each ala carte tend to be in the price range of £8-£14, whilst the mains cost around £17-£25, so do be prepared to perhaps spend more than you normally would at other restaurants. Desserts can also cost anything up to £10, however if you are looking for something slightly cheaper, definitely check out World Service’s Sunday set menu where you can get two courses for £13 or three courses for £18.
If you are looking to eat on a Sunday, it may be worth booking a table, as the restaurant is only open between 12 noon and 2.30pm, and then between 7pm and 9pm on a Sunday. On a weekday he restaurant is open between 12 noon and 2pm, and then 7pm until 10pm, whilst it stays open until 10.30pm on a Saturday.
Although the menu’s change daily, from the food you can expect traditional British cuisine mixed with the Chef’s own originality and international foods, making World Services menu one of the most original in the Country.
Not only is the food the only award winning accolade at World Service, but also the drinks menu has bagged it’s fair share of awards as well. With over 180 wines on offer, you probably won’t be hard pushed to have a glass. Or two.
